How it looks like:

Slow Flow Yoga is a nourishing therapeutic practice that focuses on the balance and harmony between the mind, body, and soul. It is based on traditional yoga poses held longer and moving in synchronicity with each breath at a slow pace.

The class starts with a guided breathing meditation to ground yourself in the present moment, followed by a gentle warm up to release tension and activate energy through meditative movements. Then, we flow through an accessible mindful yoga sequence enhancing self-agency, alignment, flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. Class ends with restorative poses to embrace the healing and transformative power of slowing down. Students leave this class feeling revitalised, empowered and calm, ready to take on their week.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How long are the classes and how often should I attend them?

    The classes last 60 minutes. To get started, we recommend committing to practicing at least once a week and gradually increasing the frequency over time. Practicing yoga regularly many times a week is the ideal to see faster results and experience its therapeutic benefits.

    Please arrive at least 5 minutes before class to settle in.

  • I am not flexible, can I do yoga?

    Yes, you can! Flexibility is not a prerequisite in yoga, instead it is the result of a mindful and consistent practice. This class is ideal for people who struggle with chronic stiffness, sit long hours, or are tight bodied athletes. Slow yoga helps you release muscle and joint tension, and tightness, and increases flexibility as well as strength and mobility through deliberate slow gentle movements and breath work.

  • What should I wear/bring to class?
    • Wear comfortable clothes (avoid baggy or loose)
    • Please have the following props if practicing online: 1 yoga mat, 2 blocks, 1 strap, 1 blanket
    • Keep yourself well hydrated before and after class
    • Let us know about any injuries or health conditions
    • Avoid eating 2 hours before class
    • No phones during class
